思いつきですが、今週から毎週お気に入りの曲を1曲ずつ紹介していきます。
第一回目はBette Midlerの「the Rose」です。

癒やしの1曲
the Roseは、高畑勲さんの作品「おもひでぽろぽろ」の主題歌にも日本語版で「愛は花、君はその種子」として登場します。日本のドラマでは「アルジャーノンに花束を」でもエンディングに使われていました。私はドラマでこの曲にめぐりあいました。
元々はアメリカ映画「Rose」(1979年)の主題歌みたいです。映画はみたことありません。
数多くのカバーが存在する有名な曲です。
英語でも日本語でも傷ついた心を癒やしてくれる曲だと思います。初めてきいたときは鳥肌が立ちました。歌詞をしっかり聴いて曲を堪能しています。
私の一番好きなフレーズは「Its the heart afraid of breaking, that never learns to dance」(傷つくことが怖い心は踊れない)です。
